Browns verses Colts
Vegas Line: Cleveland + 2.5
Over/Under: 41
What to expect from Colts?
The Colts are 8-5 and are coming in suffering a 27-17 loss last week against the Titans. This is a critical game for the Colts and a must win game for the Browns. Indianapolis outgained Tennessee on offense 389-348, but 202 of the Colts' yards came when they were trying to play catch-up.
Manning, who last week became the only quarterback in NFL history to begin his career with five consecutive 3,000-yard passing seasons, tried to rally the Colts. His third interception came in the end zone in the third quarter.
The Colts have a balance offense and their defense has improved because of their Head Coach Tony Dungy. The Colts will run Edgerrin James, quite a bit until the Browns can prove they can stop him and then Peyton Manning will throw to some talented receivers- Wayne,Harrison,Ismail and Pollard!
What the Browns defense must
do!
The Browns defense hasn't stopped a running back the last three games and they're facing one of the better ones in the league in Edgerrin James. Can Butch Davis, and Forge Fazio, figure out some defensive scheme to stop him? It took them 13 weeks to start using the blitz and it worked wonders on the defense swarming the Jacksonville quarterback last week. The Titans beat the Colts due to turn-overs and the Browns just might need to do the same thing.
What the Browns offense must
do!
They need to continue the success of running William Green and eat the clock up taking the ball out of Peyton Manning's hands! The offensive-line needs to pass block better especially the middle of the line and pick up the blitzes better. Will the very good Tim Couch show up or the one that as been terrible the last two weeks? Butch Davis, needs to watch Couch closely and if he is playing bad put in backup QB. Holcomb before the game gets out of hand.
Season record on game picks: 8-4 (1 Tie)
What do I think?
Can the Browns win? Can they play well at home? Yes, to both questions but I'm not sure that they will? Last weeks win was more of a gift from the officials then a dominating win by the Browns team.Quarterback Tim Couch, has played bad the last two weeks and I'm not sure if his arm isn't hurting again? If the Browns can keep the running game moving and take time away from the Colts offense they have a chance. Only because I'm a homer take the Browns and points!
