Browns verses Chiefs

Vegas Line: Cleveland - 2.5  Over/Under: 37

What to expect from Chiefs offense?

One key to the Chiefs season is Trent Green's ability to avoid interceptions better than last year, when he led the league. The answer, judging by training camp and the preseason, is unclear. Green still shows the tendency to force the ball into coverage. The team wants to use three- and four-wide receiver formations, but it's still unclear whether wide receivers Dante Hall and Marc Boerigter can produce consistently. One of them may be forced to step into the starting lineup if an injury strikes either Morton or Eddie Kennison. ... It's not too late for recently signed TE Tony Gonzalez to help. The Browns will have to account for him any time he steps on the field in the season opener, though he probably will play fewer than half the snaps.

What the Browns defense must do!

Stop the Chiefs running game and force Trent Green to pass! Gonzalez just sign and will play and the Browns defense must keep an eye on him.

What the Browns offense must do!

Play a ball controll offense with short quick passes and screens. Scrore points in the Red Zone and no turn-overs!

What do I think?

I think the Browns will cover the 2.5 spread and win their first opener since coming back. The wise thing to do before betting any large sum of money is to wait a few weeks to see how the teams really look.

Some Thoughts:

Very exciting game that the Browns should have won if not for the unsportsman like pentaltie called on LB Dwayne Rudd with no time left on the clock giving the Chiefs half the distance to their goal and another play with no time left in which they kicked the winning fieldgoal.

The Browns offense played well but still had trouble putting a running game together. Our defense played a terrible game...couldn't stop the run or pass? I would question the coaching on the players getting the unsportsman like pentalies called on them?
