Brian Billick
became the second head coach in Baltimore Ravens' history on Jan. 19, 1999.
Billick, the highly successful offensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings the last five years (1994-98), directed a Vikings' attack that set a variety of NFL and club records.

Jamal Lewis should make the offense even more explosive for Brian Billick's Ravens. Baltimore Ravens Two of coach Brian Billick's major goals in this year's draft were to add offensive firepower to the Ravens at both the running back and receiver positions. Baltimore might have hit the mark with both of its first-round selections.

Running back Jamal Lewis gives Baltimore a 240-pound back with home-run speed and elusiveness. Wide receiver Travis Taylor will give Billick a bigger receiver to complement what the Ravens already have.

Both of these players will have to be able to come in and contribute immediately. Baltimore has a championship-caliber defense, but the Ravens must improve offensively to move up in the AFC Central. Next season's opening-day game at Pittsburgh will be very interesting.
