Browns verses Seahawks

Vegas Line: Cleveland + 6 Over/Under: 38.5

I have a hard time believing that the Browns are six points under-dogs? The Browns looked impressive during pre-season! And both teams enter the 2001 season off extremely disappointing campaigns last year.

What to expect from Seahawks offense?

The Seahawks have a pretty fair O-line and will give young QB in Matt Hasselbeck time to throw. Rookie WR Koren Robinson will be a favorite target and Coach Holgren just picked up veteran WR Bobby Engram. The Seahawks do have a strong running game with Ricky Waters.

What the Browns defense has to do!

Mount a pass rush and make QB Hasselbeck, to make quick throws. Stop the Seahawks running game and force the young QB too beat you by using different defensive formations!

What the Browns must do!

Established the running game and mix in short to long passes. Get good field position with our special teams. The Seahawks spent allot of money for free agents to strengthen their defensive line and will be a good test for Verba and Tre Johnson. Long time consuming drives that put points on the board!

What do I think?

It’s hard to get reads on any teams till after a few games into the season. But the Browns will be playing at home with a fired up crowd! The crowd will intimated the scab refs-ha!I’ll take the Browns with the points in a close game!

*Results*

I thought it would have been a close game and it sure was! The defense looked awesome even without Courtney Brown! The offense needs more time too jell. To the NFL get the offical ref's back quickly!

Some Thoughts:

During pre-season Lenzie Jackson looked great on special teams and I still don't know why he was cut? Oben sucked on the line (again) Jackson, doesn't have the bulk to block blitzes.

The replacement ref's didn't call any pass interfence on the Seahawks and the block in the back which would have put the Seahawks on the 10 instead of letting them bring it out close too the fifty!
