Browns verses Lions

Vegas Line: Cleveland + 1.5 Over/Under: 34

Detroit is starting quarterback Ty Detmer, a former Brown, who know the Cleveland defense very well! You can bet Detmer will have input into the Lions' game plan. The two biggest reasons for the switch to Ty Detmer, who has seven years of experience in the West Coast offense, was that Batch wasn't spotting open receivers and he wasn't making the big play when it was available.

What to expect from Lions offense?

The screen pass, which is one of the staples of the West Coast offense will be used to try to slow the Browns pass rush. Ty, can throw short quick passes and can read defenses! Detroit doesn't have much of a running attack but will mix it.

What the Browns defense has to do!

They need too put pressure on Ty, and force turn-overs. Watch for the short dump passes and screens. watch for trick plays both teams had plenty of time too work in new things.

What the Browns must do!

Couch looked nervous the first game and it didn't help with the receivers drooping so many passes. Mike Sellars need to be used more and so does OJ Santiago. Why not play Ben Gay an establish the running game?

What do I think?

It's hard too say how much the terrorist attacks affected both teams? I know it affected me quite a bit! Detroit looked horrible against Green Bay and switched quarterbacks because of it! The Browns will win and will score over twenty points!

Some Thoughts:

The game went the way I thought it would and I felt very sorry for Ty Detmer, throwing 7 interceptions! WOW!! Detmer is a classy guy but played too many practical jokes on his old team mates-ha!

Couch, still looks uncomfortable with the new offense but on the plus side the Browns had their first RB (Jackson) to go over 100 yds rushing since Ernest Byner!
