Browns verses Bengals

Vegas Line: Browns + 6   over/under 41

What to expect from Bengals offense?

The first week of the season was a by week for the Bengals and they spent their time watching the Browns,Jaguar game. They have a good idea on how the Browns will look on both sides of the ball.

They're main concern will be trying to control the line of scrimmage. The Bengals must establish the running game with tailback Corey Dillon in order to win the time-of-possession battle. That will take the pressure off Smith, who will spread the ball around to wide receivers Peter Warrick, Ron Dugans and Craig Yeast, plus tight end Tony McGee. Look for short, crisp passes so the speedy wideouts can utilize their quickness

What the Browns defense has to do!

Stop Dillion who had two tremendous games against us last year. Second knock the snot out of Akili Smith, crush him, stomp him into the twighlight zone! Put double coverage on Warrick who has looked impressive in preseason and put someone on the TE McGee!

What the Browns must do!

The Bengals defensive line hasn't done a good job of penetrating, but that area should improve because they are healthy again. The line's increased penetration will help cornerbacks Tom Carter and Artrell Hawkins because they won't have to cover as long. Giving enemy quarterbacks and wide receivers time to operate will spell doom for the Bengals.

The Browns should build on what they did against the Jaguars which is one of the best defenses in the league. Rhett should have good day running against the Bengals and Couch will have time to throw. I look for Couch to go long against the Bengals and put points on the board.

The defense will put pressure on Smith and look for some interceptions from our DB's this week. Dillion will have a hard time running against our front seven, plus he missed all of the preseason.

What do I think?

Well I was wrong about the upset against the Jaguars! But I think they showed Smith thumping his chest after his win here, in practice all week! The defense is going to go after him and Couch has to much pride and will show Smith up! Browns by 10

*Results: Browns 24 Bengals 7*

"Who Dey?" Why they're the Bungles! Couch threw a 65 yd. bomb to David Patten the very first play! The Browns didn't score on their first drive. But they went for a TD on fourth down! This set the tone for the game for the Browns offense and defense. They kept on attacking and attacking the whole game! The Browns scored 24 pts. and Couch spread the ball around to everyone and took some very hard hits doing it!

The defense shut down Cory Dillon to 41 yds. Akili Smith was running for his life the whole game and was sacked 7 times, plus being hit over and over again after releasing the ball. The Browns totally dominated this game and spoiled the opening of Paul Brown stadium for the Bengals fans!
