Browns verses Ravens

Vegas Line: Cleveland + 9  Over/Under 37.5

What to expect from Ravens offense?

The Ravens have finally got an offense to go along with their great defense. They come in with a 3-1 record with the only lost coming from a rainy muddy game in Miami. They would probably be unbeaten if the weather had been better?

Tony Banks is spreading the ball around to WR Travis Taylor, TE Shannon Sharpe and WR Qadry Ismail and RB Priest Holmes. Rookie RB Jamal Lewis ran for 116 yards and a touchdown against the Bengals last week. The Ravens offensive line is playing well opening up running holes and I expect them running Lewis and Holmes through the middle and outside and throwing over the middle to Sharpe. Banks will go deep once in a while and both wide outs have great speed.

What the Browns defense has to do!

The Browns are short at linebacker Rahim Abdullah suffered a groin pull and LB Lenoy Jones was also hurt. The Browns will be playing with a fired up crowd and they know how much the people of Cleveland wants them to beat this team. I think our pass rush will show up again for this game and it’s important for the Browns to stop the run and put a safety on Sharpe. I hope they throw in some new blitzes with the corners or safeties and knock Banks down hard!

What the Browns must do!

Couch will have to put last week game out of his mind and the offensive line needs to show up for this game. Give Couch time and he’ll pick them apart! Rhett is fired up for this game and will be running hard. The Browns remember what the Ravens did to them at home last year and a pay -back is called for! Special teams play and field position is going to be important against the Ravens.

What do I think?

I hope we kick the crap out of this pathetic excuse of a football team! After saying that the Ravens defense Tackles, Tony Siragusa and Sam Adams are just to big for our offensive linemen to move and the Ravens LB have to much speed for Rhett or Prentice to get outside. It’s up to the line to give Couch time to throw and the receivers to get open and hang on to the ball. Hoping for a close game and the Browns squeak out a win! That was from my heart but my head says Ravens by 14? I really hope I’m wrong on this one!

*Results*

Very tough defensive first half with Rhett and Couch being injured with the game being dominated by both defenses! We got a major scare late in the first half, when quarterback Tim Couch went down with a right knee injury. After not playing the final series of the half, Couch returned in the second half. The Browns did lose starting running back and former Raven Errict Rhett to a sprained foot in the second quarter. He did not return and will be re-evaluated on Monday.

The Browns really had some opportunities to win this game but the four turnovers killed them, especially the ones in the red zone! This was the third shut-out this season for the Ravens, but our defense played a heck of game only giving up four field goals! In spite of the lost I thought the team was making big strides on both sides of the ball! Just wait till this team gets a little more experience!
