Proposed new stadium.

The Steelers released sketches that show the current design concepts. The proposed stadium will feature a horseshoe shape, with the south end of the stadium almost completely open toward the City skyline. The 65,000-seat stadium will include 6,600 club seats and offer a number of amenities not currently offered at Three Rivers Stadium.

"We have worked on many stadiums, and I believe this will be one of the most unique stadium designs in the country," said Dennis Wellner of HOK Sports Architects. "I am unaware of another stadium that features a more dramatic vista to its host city."

The Steelers revealed that the stadium will contain many improvements over Three Rivers Stadium, including many more seats on the lower level and along the sidelines, wider concourses, a greater number of restrooms, and state-of-the-art scoreboard and sound system.
